IBM TS2240 Tape Drive Express Model

An entry level IBM TotalStorage tape product, the IBM TS2240 Tape Drive Express Model is architected to deliver high-capacity tape storage for midrange tape storage environments. With double the storage capacity of the existing IBM TS2230, the TS2240 delivers affordable backup save and restore and archival storage external to the server.

The IBM TS2240 features the IBM Ultrium 4 Tape drive in a half-height form factor. This model is compatible with major operating systems and ISV applications. The IBM TS2240 is a great alternative to slower and smaller capacity ¼-inch, 4mm and 8mm DLT/SDLT tape drives. The IBM TS2240 tape drive is available in several models: IBM 3580-H4S (IBM 3580 Model H4s), IBM 3580S4E (IBM 3580 Model S4E), IBM 3580E4S (IBM 3580 Model E4S).

IBM 3580-H4S The IBM 3580 H4S has one IBM Ultrium 4 tape drive with 3 Gbps SAS attach.
IBM 3580S4E The IBM 3580 Model S4E has one LTO Ultrium 4 Tape drive and a serial attached SCSI (SAS) interface.
IBM 3580E4S The IBM 3580 Model E4S is an express seller bundle with rack-mount kit.
