HP Proliant DL740 Server Overview:
The HP DL740is fitted with a Ferrari engine in a neon chassis, and a surge of horsepower that is more than what you need to drive large applications. Based on HP’s F8 chipset, the DL740 ships with a hot plug memory card, eight way Xeon processors and PCI-X card.
The HP DL740 is equipped with hot-plug RAID memory and is fitted with 5GB of ECC RAM. Additionally, the HP DL740 has six available PCI express slots that are of 64 bit and are evenly spread across three buses.
In terms of storage, the HP DL740 is appointed with a internal hot swap four drive Ultra 3 SCSI drive cage that delivers a maximum capacity of 587.2 GB. The RAID controlled on the HP DL740 sports two external connectors and 128 MB of cache. In terms of network connectivity, the HP DL740 features two integrated PCI-X Gigabit Broadcom NIC’s, and regular maintenance is made easy with toolless repair.
The latch at the front of the HP DL740 provides easy access to the power supplies, and also reveals the DVD drive that is stacked comfortably in a hot pluggable media bay. The HP DL740 is basically divided into two separate sections, with the first one housing the power, host and media module, and the second holding the memory, system board and processors.
The HP DL740 can be accessed remotely through a web browser, and provides access to initial boot sequences.
