HP DL180 Server Overview: The HP DL180 arrives with a different claim altogether. Not only does the HP DL180 rival its competitors, but its innovative features also set it apart from other servers in its own lineup. Although the HP DL180 can be used as a compute node, it ranks high when used as a storage server. The HP DL180 comes fitted with a four drive backplane, which enables the lower four bays that are connected directly to four of the six internal SATA ports embedded on the motherboard. The entry level HP DL180 comes with a standard riser card located at the rear, with other options for PCI-X also available. In terms of the interior, the components are well laid out providing easy access maintenance and regular upkeep. The processor sockets of the HP DL180 come along with six DIMM sockets and memory that can be expanded to 196GB.
