Also marketed as an SMB server, the Dell PowerEdge t310 is more machine that what a small enterprise network could ask for. This beefy server is a perfect fit for both large and small businesses especially those that run mission critical applications, web servers that transact heavily and high volume email servers.
Although the Dell PowerEdge t310 only supports some versions of VMware and Microsoft’s Hyper-V, it can handle virtualization with a smile. The PowerEdge t310 boasts features such as high fault tolerance and availability and embedded management capabilities.
Designed as a socket form factor, the PowerEdge t310 is a pretty big and noisy tower, but that’s what’s expected from a machine running four powerful drives simultaneously. The chassis of the PowerEdge t310 provides support for a VGA port, eight USB ports and several other physical features that are neatly bolstered to the case.
In terms of management options, the Dell PowerEdge t310 is sure keeps itself busy with a Unified Server Configurator, which configures RAID options, manages other system settings and performs firmware updates.
Remote management in the PowerEdge t310 is taken care of by the iDRAC (Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller), which uses a system chip microprocessor for faster deployment and update even in a bare mental state.
