The HP Product Manager is responsible for driving profitable sales and sourcing HP enterprise hardware, including servers, storage, networking and related components. This role develops new business, manages key customer and supplier relationships, identifies inventory opportunities, and provides product expertise to support the sales team.
Success in this position requires strong market knowledge, excellent communication skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships while maximizing revenue and inventory performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development
- Develop new HP sales opportunities through prospecting, referrals, networking, and existing relationships.
- Grow business with brokers, resellers, VARs, maintenance providers, data centers, and end users.
- Build long-term customer relationships that generate repeat business.
- Respond quickly to customer inquiries and deliver accurate, competitive quotations.
- Meet or exceed monthly sales, margin, and profitability goals.
Product & Market Management
- Develop and maintain expertise in HP servers, storage, networking, and enterprise solutions.
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and product availability.
- Recommend pricing strategies that maximize inventory turns and profitability.
- Identify lifecycle opportunities, upgrades, and replacement solutions for customers.
Inventory Sourcing
- Source HP equipment through distributors, leasing companies, ITADs, brokers, auctions, channel partners, and end users.
- Build a reliable network of suppliers to ensure consistent inventory availability.
- Evaluate purchasing opportunities based on market demand, quality, and profitability.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing aging inventory.
Sales Support
- Provide HP product expertise to inside sales and account managers.
- Assist with technical configurations, product recommendations, and pricing strategies.
- Support bid opportunities and large customer projects.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure equipment meets customer requirements.
Customer Experience
- Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales process.
- Coordinate with Customer Service, Purchasing, Technical, and Shipping teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Resolve customer issues professionally and efficiently.
- Build trust through responsive communication and exceptional service.
Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing to develop HP promotions, product campaigns, and educational content.
- Work with e-commerce teams to optimize online listings and product visibility.
- Share market intelligence and best practices with the sales team.
- Support cross-functional initiatives that improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:
Required
- Experience selling enterprise IT hardware or technology solutions.
- Knowledge of HP enterprise products or the ability to quickly develop expertise.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to prioritize multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and pricing skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and online research tools.
Preferred
- Experience with HP ProLiant servers, storage systems, networking, or enterprise infrastructure.
- Existing relationships within the IT reseller, broker, or distribution community.
- Experience purchasing and selling refurbished enterprise hardware.
Compensation: $60,000-$85,000 base/draw(depending on experience) +commission
Position Overview: We offer a highly competitive compensation structure designed to reward your expertise and drive. This role features a guaranteed base/draw starting at $60,000 and up, scaling dynamically with your industry experience and proven track record. On top of your base foundation, you will earn a commission on all closed volume, allowing your total compensation to grow with your success.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
