HP Storageworks XP24000 Disk Array

The XP24000 boasts a number of new features, including an enhanced DKA that encrypts data on your disk drives so that data can’t be read off a disk drive that has been taken out of the disk array. Further, External Storage Disaster Recovery offers a way to execute a 2-site, economical data recovery solution by synchronously copying data from the XP to any other vendor’s array.

Specs on the XP24000 include:
> Fully redundant (all components are redundant, hot-swappable, and can be upgraded online) hardware platform with unique data replication capabilities incorporated with clustering solutions for total business stability.
> 73 GB Solid State Disk Drives (SSDs) for applications requiring high I/O performance.
> 450 GB 15K rpm FC Disk Drive for another high performance FC drive option.
> Operating system upgrade option on the Service Processor (SVP) from Windows XP to Vista.
> Thin provisioning allows you the ability to lower power costs by delivering storage capacity to applications from a virtualized pool and diminishing unused storage that consumes power, requires cooling, and takes up space.
> In the event of a power outage, the XP batteries carry on operations and write cache data to disk. RAID 6 adds an additional layer of fault tolerance. Continuous track inspects for undetected issues, and the end-to-end checksum verifies data integrity from port to disk and back.
