The Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3130 for Dell M1000E allows you to mix and match 1 Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet switches, thereby offering an affordable migration path.


Offered in two configurations, these switches also use VBS technology, which treats individual physical switches within a rack as a single logical switch. Similar to server virtualization technology, VBS allows the switches to provide improved utilization, greater performance and more resilience while making operations and management easier.

Configuration 1: WS-CBS3130G-S

    • Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3130G for Dell M1000E
    • Allows connection to the existing network fabric using Gigabit Ethernet uplinks.
    • Supports a maximum of 8 Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports: 4 10/100/1000 BASE-T ports and 4 Small Form-Factor Pluggable Gigabit Ethernet ports (using Cisco TwinGig Converter Modules in the X2 slots).

Configuration 2: WS-CBS3130X-S

  • Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3130X for Dell M1000E
  • Allows connection to the existing network fabric using Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks
  • Supports up to 4 10/100/1000 BASE-T ports and 2 X2 based 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports.
