The Cisco 2921 series Integrated Services Routers are designed for high security and enable borderless networks at branches. Ideal for small offices, they securely deliver voice, data, video and application services. Featuring 3 integrated Ethernet ports (1 capable of RJ-45/SFP connectivity), a service module slot and an internal service modules slot for application services, 4 high-speed WAN interface card slots, 3 onboard DSP slots, and integrated power distribution to modules which support both Power over Ethernet (PoE) as well as enhanced PoE, these routers are second to none in hardware features. Hardware-accelerated VPN encryption is embedded into the system for additional security. They also allow secure collaborative communications with various VPNs and feature threat control using different Cisco firewalls and content filtering. Identity management is also emphasized with intelligent protection for endpoints using AAA (authentication, authorization, and accounting) as well as public key infrastructure. For voice communication, there are several good features like high density DSP module (packet voice) which has been optimized for both voice and video support. Voice XML browser services, unified border element capabilities, unity express voice mail support are the other key points. Survivable remote site telephony and communications manager express are also supported by the Cisco 2921 routers.
