The Cisco 2911 Integrated Services Routers are designed to deliver highly secure voice, data, video and application services with superior overall performance. With 3 integrated Ethernet ports compatible with RJ-45 connectors, 1 slot for a service module, 4 slots for high-speed WAN interface cards, 2 DSP card slots, 1 internal slot for application services and integrated power to modules which supports both Power over Ethernet(PoE) and enhanced PoE, the 2911 series routers offer a scalable, highly-efficient model. Security is of high priority for these routers with embedded hardware-accelerated encryption for Virtual Private Networks (VPN) which enables secure connectivity and communication from all modules and integrated threat control using different Cisco firewalls. There is also the feature for identity management using public key infrastructure and the AAA system (authentication, authorization and accounting). For advanced voice and video communication, there is a voice DSP module which uses high density packets. Various Cisco services like VoiceXML browser services, unified border element, unity express voicemail, survivable remote site telephony and the communications manager express package are also supported by the 2911 series. The second generation Cisco ISRs including the 2911 series improve the work place environment by creating the highly regarded borderless workspace experience.
