IBM 7206 External Tape Drives

With DAT72 physical capacity of up to 36GB, the IBM 7206 Model 336 External Tape Drive is able to deliver nearly double the capacity of DDS-4 tape drives. The 7206 External Tape Drive has been architected for enhanced data rate as compared to the IBM 7206 Model 220. It has been created for compatibility with tape storage devices used internally on IBM System p and IBM System i servers.

The IBM 7206 External Tape Drive series also offered several other models including: IBM 7206-001, IBM 7206-005, IBM 7206-110, IBM 7206-220, IBM 7206-336, IBM 7206-VX2, and IBM 7206-VX3. Details are provided below.
