And, the IBM 3494 has been designed to support data retention and business continuity requirements. The flexible architecture of the IBM 3494 gives the customer configuration choices, and it features a small footprint.


Share a 3494 tape library across multiple platforms, including IBM System z, IBM System p, IBM System i, and IBM System x servers, as well as an assortment of non-IBM platforms. Other general features of the 3494 include an average mount access time of seven seconds, virtual tape server support, and cartridge interchange (optional).
